Reflexion (Paz Total)

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break in and steal. Matthew 6:19

He had just bought a new bike of the year, with just 18 years of age it seemed that Martin, life smiled, his schoolmates envied him to be like him, good clothes, excellent shoes, beautiful girls always accompanied him, how many would like to be the for just one day, always with money in his pocket, a good friend willing to invite others to share in his blessings, and the question that we asked his friends was; from where Martin gets his income, since he does not work and his parents are not resourceful, because time passed and after only 3 years, he already had several apartments, vehicles, trips, and many things that we could not buy even in 20 years of work without spending, many away from their friendship because it was shocking to see the overwhelmed success of Martin and how he rubbed his goods in our faces and called us; Conformists, however after two years, we received the news that our friend Martin was in jail, how can it be? we asked ourselves, and when we visited him in jail we saw his haggard face from crying, we watched his fear, and his desire to undo everything he had obtained and not be in that painful situation, now he was accused of drug trafficking, robbery, kidnapping , extortion. What was enough for Martin? When would it stop? When we talk about materialism most people think that it is not with them, that it is with other ambitious and millionaires, but the love of money and materialism affects all people, without distinction of social or religious class; There may be people without anything very materialistic and people with much that are not, in fact the problem is not in the material goods but in the ambitions of those who want them. How much is enough for you? What are you looking for and striving for today? How far would you be able to go to achieve your personal ambitions? What are the priorities in your life? Have more, achieve more? In exchange for which you are striving today to obtain material things? Does your spiritual growth go hand in hand with your material growth? Is this God at the center of your work and your needs? Would you be willing to give up everything you have achieved today for the love of God and follow him with nothing? It is time to evaluate our lives from the outside and find the balance of the spiritual over the material. Mr. Jesus dedicated many topics on the problem of love to money, even more than salvation, the theme that he emphasized was that the love of money is the root of all evils, so we should not neglect the issue of materialism in our lives, it is serious and can destroy us if we pay attention.
